General Presentation

Situated in the town of Mont-Laurier, 220 km North of Montreal, this facility was originally constructed in 1937, enlarged in 1951 and abandoned several years prior to its acquisition by Hydromega in 1987.

The company embarked on a comprehensive retrofit of all aspects of the site, including the rebuild of the three turbines, extensive civil repairs on the powerhouse, water intakes, dam and retaining walls, replacement of the transformer as well as all electrical equipment and switchgear in order to prolong the serviceable life for an additional 40 years.
